He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak.
and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
1 Thessalonians 5:8
But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.
The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.
For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
2 Corinthians 6:7
by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;
His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.”
Look down from heaven and see, from your holy and beautiful habitation. Where are your zeal and your might? The stirring of your inner parts and your compassion are held back from me.
“I have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was with me; I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath; their lifeblood spattered on my garments, and stained all my apparel.
Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins.
For zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.
I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban.

Then he will say, ‘Where are their gods, the rock in which they took refuge, who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise up and help you; let them be your protection! “‘See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand.
2 Thessalonians 1:8
in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
O Lord, God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, shine forth!
